According to a new survey (so we know this is accurate and precise), 95% of Americans have tried to lose weight in the last 5 years. They cite the biggest challenges to be willpower, lack of motivation, and overcoming hunger. And I have notes.
I think it's probably because produce costs many dollars and Top Ramen cost no dollars. (Unless you're in one of those expensive corner stores that charge $1.49 HIGHWAY ROBBERY, I TELL YA).
The difference in dollar-costing can have a lot of effects. The obvious being accessibility. Idk if you've noticed, but life has gotten super expensive. Sometimes we just need a full tummy and we gotta get what we can. Sometimes, that means you have to have it a lot. That means you can get addicted to all that sh*t in there. I KNOW IT SOUNDS DRAMATIC BUT IT'S A THING LOOK IT UP
In conclusion, we should:
- stop treating getting fat as the worst f*cking thing in the world.
- stop blaming Americans for a weight problem that is clearly symptomatic of a systemic failure.
- smoke more weed. That has nothing to do with it but I just think we should.
