Angi Taylor Show Recap with Jay the Gay - 12-2-2020

Call in Points:

(This is the broadstroke canvas on which I base my call, obviously these notes are going to be longer and more detailed.)

Today was my kind of day on the show, as things I'm passionate about were big topics of discussion. Being the overall head roadie who has to round up and handle the other head roadies, it was nice to see my people getting alot of love today as well as the eternal struggle that has been trying to get a PS5.

So, Angi has been on the hunt for a PS5 ever since Abe mentioned wanting one a few weeks back. She reached out to Twitter, hoping to find a hookup that would be able to fulfill perpetual man child Abe's lust for the hot new system. (Personal note, I too was seeking a PS5 for months and have given up, moving my want for it until sometime in late spring.) Of course though, all these hookups wanted above face value for them. That said, there's a seller, one of many different ones, who has been using bots to buy 225 of them and scalping them for around $1,000 a piece. So far he's made $40,000 and earned the disrespect of plenty. So those of us who are unlucky, we can always go that route but let's face it, we're not stupid. Btw, you know who else is missing a system, a guy in Taiwan whose wife didn't want him to get one so he told her it was an air purifier. She got mad when she discovered the truth and ended up selling it for basically pennies. In the end, Abe and I have both decided to wait until a later date to get our systems because the ones out the gate are usually buggy and let's be realistic, you want a system that is going to work and isn't a flaming pile of junk just to be one of the first to have it.

As stated in my opening, today was essentially Head Roadie Day as plenty of our shows Head Roadies checked in. One of them was Sandy, who is the Head Roadie of all people named Sandy. Aside from saying hi, she wanted to showcase all her promoting that she does for the show and everything you should be doing. You want a spot as a Head Roadie, you should be taking her lead and doing the work she does. This is directed at John, who called in and wants to be the Head Roadie of Operating Engineers. He was told to check back next Monday and let us know the work he's been doing before we decide to hand out the stripes. Also included in the call was a game of "Is It She or He?" This occurred when Sandy accidentally misgendered our Head Roadie of Australia Hayden, who identifies as male. It doesn't help that we know nothing of Hayden and don't have a pic even. Again though, for the record, let it be stated that he's male. That said, being the Head of all Head Roadies, I've decided to make a declaration. I feel that Hayden should be simply gendered as a shady kangaroo, so it is written so let it be done.

Lastly, we circled back to a topic that arose yesterday. Dan, the Head Roadie of Federal Prison, is lacking a radio and needs our help. He sent a letter around Thanksgiving to the show to explain his issue. Included in the letter was a story about a woman who came by and started flashing all the prisoners. This clearly is the act of a listener of the show but then again, all things considered it was probably Angi. Personally, we all feel that it's quite nice to flash prisoners. Anyway, Angi, whose dream felony is to rob a bank, wants to help Dan out. She wants to put money in Dan's commissary and is curious how much a prison radio costs. Turning to the listers, we heard from Brian and Lloyd. Brian told us around $50 and Lloyd said everything costs double. So with answers that only led to more confusion, Angi did some sleuthing and discovered the price is around $55 or so. Hang in there Dan, your gift from The Angi Taylor Morning Show is on its way...probably. Also included was a discussion on Angi's drug mule past but that was quickly breezed over.

Other Topics:

A discussion on Uber ratings came up early in the morning. Abe, who apparently takes Uber's on occasion, doesn't have a rating. This means either he doesn't ride enough or he is just so bad that all his stars fell off. Angi has a rating of 4.89. Angi, unlike Abe, is thirsty to make sure that her ratings always stays great. I mean, she's probably drunk and passed out in there usually so I can't imagine there being much issue or harm having her in for a ride. There is one staffer at the radio station who has a rating of a 4, which is wild. When pressed to come in though she refused, citing covid fears or something. The reason this all came up was the Uber rating system is about to get very important. You see, if you dip below a 4, there's a great chance that Uber just won't bother to pick you up. Thankfully, there's always Lyft so if you fool around too much, you can have another rideshare rating to absolutely wreck.

We here at The Angi Taylor Show love local and we want you to support local, especially the restaurants that are struggling right now (screw chain places.) That said, Angi was confused about who would actually want to willingly go out and eat in a pandemic style tent in 40 degree weather. Ironically, or not if you know him, Abe actually ate out in one of those tents recently and shared his experience. He said it's actually not bad since the tents are heated and the tables within them are spaced out. He did say however that it didn't feel like fresh air was coming in. For Angi, this led to a question of exactly why the tents can exist but the restaurants can't have indoor dining as it feels to be the same thing basically. This essentially comes down to being a loophole that allows places to stay open and still serve to stay afloat but still follow the rules. There was a mention of DoorDash and using delivery services from the restaurant itself over it and I agree. As someone whose best friend is the GM of a restaurant, I tend to learn things. For example, DoorDash recently had a cap put on the amount they could charge restaurants. So, to work around the inability to gouge restaurants, DoorDash is now charging extra fees to customers. This is why when you eat local, order their own delivery if they have it or use one of the other like 10 delivery services.

Finally, in daily Drunk Ninja news, a Z list celeb actress who was the voice of Pocahontas in the Disney cartoon was arrested twice in a three day span while being on a drunk bender. The first one came when she went to her ex husband's house, holding a belt and complaining about how they sent "the white man" to come get her (it should be noted, she's Indian.) While there, she proceeded to kick her 17 year old son and yell "I'm Pocahontas bitch!" while they took her into the police cruiser. Released and assuming she'd behave, three days later she was drunk and found harassing the desk clerk at a hotel. This time she charged at the police officer so they had to take her down and cuff her. Just lovely. Now, I'm not goofing on alcoholism but after the first time, you'd think there would be some effort on her part to, you know, dry out.
