In an interview with Kerrang! Green Day reflected on how their mindset going into album 'Saviors' felt similar to their mindset going into American Idiot. They explained that prior to American idiot, Nimrod and Warning both included a lot of experimentation. They went into American Idiot taking what they had learned and brought it back to a "more classic Green Day sound." They feel that they're doing this once again with 'Saviors' following their 2020 album 'Father of All Motherfuckers.'

Bille explained, "Father of All was one of those moments where we were like, 'Let's try something new.' We learned so much from it, and it's like it has a baby called Saviors!" Mike agreed saying, "I can hear bits of each album on this record, even thoug it sounds fresh and new... I feel like if there's any words that always come back to Green Day, it's energy and melody - and this record has all those things in abundance."

Saviors is currently set to be out January 19, 2023.
