You can tell the holidays are getting close. Big albums are starting to drop. We got a couple of huge albums on on Friday and I featured both on New Noise this week.
I started thw show with something from the brand new Blink-182 album One More Time. The record is really good. The guys have lived a lot of life in the past twenty years and they use it to fuel this reunion album. The title track is emotional and resonating with listeners. But they haven't lost their fun side. I played the more uptempo "Dance With Me' which has a pretty entertaining video nod to the Ramones.
The other big album that dropped on friday is the 24th(!) studio album from the Rolling Stones. Hackney Diamonds is not throwaway... do an album to do an album.. it sounds supercharged for a band who's lead singer just turned 80!! I played 2 songs from this album... "Angry" which is the first single and one of my favs "Mess It Up".
I also played the first new song from Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda in quite some time. He says he's been writing for other for so long, he forgot what's it like to write for himself.. and he loves it. The new song is called "Already Gone".
Plus new music from Shinedown, Staind, Lenny Kravtiz and Bring Me The Horizon!
Hopefully I turned you on to something new. I already working on next week's show. Another hour of new rock tunes coming at you Sunday night at 9!
