One week away from Chicago's biggest rock festival of the year, Riot Fest! I raced back from the rain soaked Blue Ridge Rock Festival to get your ready for this weekend in Douglas Park!
Lots of Riot Fest bands on this week's New Noise, including Friday headliners Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, White Reaper, Gaslight Anthem and one of the biggest buzz bands in rock... Sleep Token!!
You can still buy tickets for Riot Fest but you need to act fast, they're almost sold out... and the weather will be great this weekend!
As I mentioned, I was at the Blue Ridge Rock Fest in Virginia on Saturday. Stabbing Westward were to play on the main stage ahead of Beartooth, Papa Roach and Shinedown. Sadly, the damage from a unexpected storm on Thursday took its toll. Along with more rain on Saturday, the festival was cancelled for the remainder of the weekend. But Shinedown and Papa Roach jumped on a flatbed truck and did some acoustic sing-a-longs with the crowd! I had to play some of those guys to show support!
And, of course, I had to play you the new song from The Rolling Stones! "Angry" is the first single off their upcoming album Hackney Diamonds out next month. If you like classic Stones, you're going to love this song!
Hopefully I turned you on to something new. That's what New Noise is all about.
