Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello is about to drop his second album of collaborations. His last album The Atlas Underground Fire featured duos with Gary Clark Jr, Marcus Mumford, Steve Aoki and Tim McIlrath from Rise Against.
Get ready for round two! I love this project because Tom gets to explore all kinds of different styles and sonic textures. He already prepped us with a cover of AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" featuring his buddies Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder.
Now he's offering a different soundscape in a song he did with Phantogram. "Driving To Texas" features a very haunting vocal from Sarah Barthel. This tune reminds of some of the moody stuff I was listening to in the 90s. And of course it has a killer Whammy pedal guitar solo at the end! Check out the creepy video to go with it!
The Atlas Underground Fire drops on October 15th!
