Earlier this summer, Danny Elfman released his first album in 37 years (not counting movie scores). All kinds of guests performed on Big Mess, including long time Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck.
So I guess it's not surprising that Danny was able to reach out to NIN frontman Trent Reznor to help out on a reworking of one of the songs from Big Mess.
This new version of "True" has a lot of typical Nine Inch Nails industrial sounds and is quite dirgelike. As it turns out, this is also Danny Elfman's first duet/collaboration. He says Trent has "always been a big inspiration to me, not to mention he has one of my all-time favorite singing voices."
