One of my crowning achievements in life is having my name in the credits at the end of Clerks. They used a Stabbing Westward song in it and as a writer, I got to have my name in the scroll at the end of the movie. Some of the cast even came to a Stabbing show at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ back in the day. Just a stone's throw from the Quick Stop where the original film was filmed.
So needless to say, I'm a longtime fan of the movie franchise. So I'm excited to read that director Kevin Smith is set to begin filming on Clerks III in August! The original cast is set to return including Jeff Anderson (Randal), Brian O'Halloran (Dante), Jason Mewes (Jay) and Rosario Dawson (Becky).
The new film has been picked up by Lionsgate for distribution and pre-production is underway with filming slated to begin next month!
