Music venues in Chicago have been shut down for nearly 10 months. Dark, silent.... nothing. There's no way for them to make money to make ends meet, pay their staff, pay the rent... without live shows.
I mean, it's great that there's $15 Billion for music venues in the new stimulus bill. It's not enough, but it helps.
More locally, a bunch of local punk and metal bands have come together for a compilation: Angry Peasants Volume X.
32 tracks from local bands like Pale Horsemen, The Mons, 5RVLN5 (pronounced Surveillance) and others. The compilation benefits the Chicago Independent Venue League (CIVL).
This is a win for all sides. You get to support local music AND local venues!
