Raise a glass, Chicago's Pope Leo XIV just got his own beer.
Burning Bush Brewery in North Center is now pouring Da Pope, an American mild ale made to honor the first-ever pope from Chicago.
The beer looks dark but goes down smooth with flavors of toasted nuts, caramel, and a little fruity kick, per Block Club Chicago.
Brewery owner Brent Raska is a former pastor turned brewer and said folks kept asking if they’d do something to mark the pope’s win.
His response?
A Chicago-style beer with American hops, local vibes, and holy flavor.
You can even order the $8 "Pope Handshake" called Da Pope paired with a shot of Malört, through 11 p.m. Friday. Bold move.
Will Da Pope beer be eternal?
Raska says it depends on the crowd.
So go taste the faith while it’s fresh!
