New Chicago Baseball Food Announced

MLB Opening Day is March 27th, and food is hitting the field! Chicago’s very own White Sox and Cubs have a slew of new food options for every fan.

The Cubs come out strong with their new Jibarito Sandwich. They aim to twist this iconic Chicago dish by adding roast beef and plantains.

Another twist on a classic, the Chicken and Waffles will be served with hot honey drizzle and strawberries on top.

Puffy Tacos have made the list as well with fluffy tortillas topped with all the fixings.

Finally, vegetarians can experience the new Cubs food as well with the Kimchi Burger. A plant-based burger will be topped with house-made kimchi, broccoli slaw, and hoisin aioli, then served on a toasted sesame bun.

The White Sox have a large selection in honor of their 125th anniversary. A Celebration Cake Shake is a sugar rush with birthday cake ice cream and confetti cake topped with a pinwheel cookie and cherry.

Another sweet treat is a twist on classic nachos. The Strawberry Cream Nachos features tortilla chips topped with cinnamon, strawberries, and whipped cream.

For a savory meal, try the Lucky Korean Dogs: El Diablo (mozzarella, Flaming Hot Cheetos, sambal mayo, and Fu Sauce) and All American (Vienna Beef hot dog, Frosted Flakes, ketchup, and mustard).

They also added two Bubble Waffles. The Gojujang (crispy chicken, gojujang honey, and toasted sesame seeds) and the Changeup (vanilla ice cream, black sugar boba, ginger, mocha syrup, and a pirouline cookie).

Other new items include the sandwiches Patty Melt, Chi-Talia, All Pro, 35th Street Reuben, and Fuku Chicken. For those who want a new side dish or snack, The Sox also have the new Seasonal Roasted Vegetable Couscous Salad and Loaded Brisket Curds.

Finally, the White Sox are adding six new cocktails: Pale House Old Fashioned, Bridgeport Iced Tea, Southside Sling, Hemminway Daiquiri, Sox in the City Cosmo, and Pinwheel (Harvey) Banger. New beer options include Golden Road Brewing, Crispin Cider, Moors Brewing, Mody Tongue Brewing, Saugatuck Brewing, and Roadhouse Brewing.

All food and drink options can be found on the Cubs and the White Sox websites.
