NIRATIAS Tops Rock Album Chart; Chevelle Questions Label/Artist Construct

Chevelle Performs In Las Vegas

Chevelle's NIRATIAS debuted at number 9 on the Billboard Top 200 this week while scoring the number 1 spot on the Rock Album charts. As happy as the band is about the success of the new album, it opened a long-simmering conversation about relationships between all artists and their labels.

Pete Loeffler said in this interview on the "Kidd Chris Show", that the band fulfilled their contract with their label but that, "It would be nice to do something different and actually make a buck off an album for once. We've sold 6 million albums for Epic Records, and they've made 50 million dollars. It's lopsided."

Listen to the podcast/interview below for more from Pete and hear more about how this age of streaming has created more issues in the artist/label relationship.
