It was the opening weekend of one of my favorite events at Universal Studios Orlando - Halloween Horror Nights 2023. I believe this marked the 32nd year of Horror Nights, and I was the DJ Universal Studios brought in to broadcast from the very first night 32 years ago. I absolutely love this!
Universal will close the park early, around 6pm, which can be a little disappointing to those people who came to just attend the regular admission to the park during the day. But then... the whole park is transformed into a nightmare.
You can expect very long lines as you wait to see some of the most amazing haunted houses, built by master designers, featuring themes from your favorite horror movies and more. This year, my favorites are the "Stranger Things" and "Oddfellow" haunted houses.
My advice to those who wish to attend. Closer to Halloween, the Horror Nights are open during the week, and you can expect a little shorter lines depending on the day you choose. Opening weekend is always packed, and so is pretty much every weekend after that.
Alcohol is served all over the park, and even more mini bar locations are setup in the walk paths. The merchandise is super cool. I dropped a couple of hundred dollars on a Stranger Things jacket, Mug, and a Halloween Horror Nights trucker hat.
I could write a lot more about this cool event at Universal Orlando, but the truth is you have to see it to really believe it. If you LOVE haunted houses, then this place is your Mecca.
