Today we not only indulge in an album side from a legendary album that turned 50 years old this week, we also celebrate the life and music of Taylor Hawkins.
The Deep Purple Machine Head vinyl lp is a 180 gram audiophile pressing, although it does have some millage on it from many plays here at the River Shack Studio.
To celebrate Taylor's music, I thought it would be cool to start off with an album side from The Foo Fighter's Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. Then.. unlike any other radio station here in Chicago, I have chosen a track that features Taylor Hawkins on lead vocals from their 2005 release In Your Honor.. and then we wrap it all up in an incredibly fun track from the Sound City documentary featuring Lee Ving on vocals, Dave and Pat on rhythm guitar and Taylor playing some unbelievably great drums on "Your Wife is Calling".
