Submit Your Trusty Rusty To Our Beater Car Club

Rock 95.5 Beater Car Club

For as long as I have worked in rock radio.. which is a very long time... I drove an old used beater as my ride. If you're like me, and find you listen to your rock and roll from the inside of these rolling relics, then submit that trusty rusty steed to our Rock 95.5 Chicago Beater Car Club. I did.

Why do you drive a beater as your regular work ride?

I work in rock radio and the pay is horrible, as is the job security. An old Chevy is super cheap to fix, even in worse case scenarios.

What kind of beaters have you driven over the years as a DJ?

1977 Trans Am (Blew it up). An old K car (blew up motor). 79 Jeep CJ5 (Blown Motor, sold). 1983 280zx. 1988 Jeep YJ (Sold). 1970 Chevy CST10 (still have it - for sale).

Do you still drive the old truck?

I drove that old hot rod rusted out orange truck every day, all winter, everywhere between Wisconsin and Indiana, while I worked at WLUP, for years.. and it never let me down, not even once. You can see it featured with Shannon in the LOOP rock girl calendar. A couple of years ago, my smokin' hot wife, after a terrifying ride in the old truck loaded heavy with gear on the way to a gig, she bought me a new FORD F150 which has been my first new car and daily driver ever since.

Do have any other old vehicles?

Yes. I have a gloss black 1979 L82 Corvette with 15,000 original miles, a 4 speed, and white interior. It's awesome!
I also ride around on a 2003 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Fatboy
