There are some iconic guitars in ROCK and Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstein guitar is most definitely one of them. Back in 2007, the Fender Custom Shop wisely decided to recreate this amazing red striped hot rod guitar in a very limited quantity. Only 300 would be made, each by hand, meticulously exact in every precise detail. So much so, that Eddie could not tell it apart from his original masterpiece. 300 perfect clones, identical to the original Frankenstein went up for sale at $25,000 each.
They SOLD OUT in 12 minutes.
As you can imagine, these highly sought after holy grail guitars rarely come up for air on the used market.. but when they do.. They now fetch a mighty high price.
