I was lucky enough to be able to take in Day 1 of the NFL Draft at Soldier Field as the Bears' Draft Party had a different air to it. There was an excitement in the room. A since of hope.
The off season moves made by Poles had fans feeling optimistic. The day one trade had folks excited. Seeing Jalen Carter come off the big board had people upset. Then when the Bears finally got to make their first pick, and people were confused.
Enter Darnell Wright at number 10. Him not being featured on any mock drafts for the Bears left fans admittedly stumped. Once they saw his stats and his tape, the mood quickly changed. The Bears had a true tackle that held his own in the trenches in the SEC.
