Walmart had announced a few weeks early that they will have a PS5 drop available for all Walmart+ members. This is all happening On June 2nd at 2pm CST. This paid service will either cost you $12.95 a month or $98 a year. Personally I think that is a small price if it is going to help you get access to a PS5 that has and still is very hard to find. This is just one drop of many that will continue to happen as the world continue to deal with supply chain issues. It will be quite some time before we see a Xbox Series X or PS5's readily available in store. If you are still on the hunt, here are some helpful tips.
Follow Retailers on Social
Retailers will often top of those following their accounts. Some last minute drops would only be caught if you were already following them. Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, GameStop, Sam's Club are just a few. Twitter is the best place to follow these stores. Don't forget to turn on notifications too.
Sign Up For Mailing Lists
In the same way that stores will release their deals on their socials, they will be sent out to those on their email list. Fills up your in box but, worth it if you can get a tip before others.
Clubs and Subscriptions Can Be Worth It
Paying a fee to get access can be helpful. You are competing with everyone on the internet. If you have to be part of a club to get access to a console, that cuts down the competition by a lot.
Log In Ahead Of Time
This seems like a no brainer but I go caught a few times not logged in on my hunt for PS5. Those few seconds can be the difference in an item being in your cart and not being there after you sign in.
Using Multiple Devices
If you are able to use multiple laptops or cell phones this will be a help. The more chances the better.
Follow These Accounts To Keep Track of Drops
Twitter is a wealth of knowledge if you look in the right place. @videogamedeals , @YtNextGenGaming , and @spieltimes have been very helpful in not only finding console drops but also finding deals on video games too.
Be Ready To Pay for the Bundle
Have a little extra money ready to get the bundle with extra controllers and or video games attached to the console. During the drop, everyone will move towards the cheapest deal. Spending extra, may help get ahead of the pack.
Don't Get Discouraged
If you fail on your first few drops, don't feel bad. There will be more. If you continue to use all the tools here that new system will hopefully be yours very soon.
