This weekend, we were hit with news of the sudden passing of Taylor Hawkins. He passed while on tour with the Foo Fighters in Columbia.
The rock world has been seen out pouring with messages since the news of his passing. Messages from Axel Rose, Tom Morello and many more flooded social media. All with great things to say about the late drummer.
For me, I will always remember Taylor for the big smile he had while playing. He truly looked and showed that he loved what he was doing while performing with the Foo Fighters.
The bromance between the band members was always very evident. There is no better moment during a show than when Dave Grohl introduced the band. Dave and Taylor would go back and forth over who was the better drummer. Two greats that appreciated each others talent.
So much so that Dave would take a back seat, head to the drum set and let Taylor lead the band. The few times I was able to see the Foo Fighters perform, this was always an amazing part of the show. Just great to see the band having so much fun with each other.
Below is video from Taylor's final performance in Columbia. They covered "Somebody To Love."
Taylor will be missed by us all. Keeping his family and the Foo Fighters crew in my thoughts.
