2022 continues to be a great year for video games. There have already been a lot of great next gen releases like Horizon Forbidden West, but there are two specific retro release coming up that I am most excited for.
Last year, Dotemu announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. This is a new game that attacks all the side scrolling awesomeness that previous TMNT titles were known for. This looks to be a fun beat-em-up game, hopefully with some great online co-op opportunities. Additionally, they have added April O'Neil and Splinter as playable characters. I don't think we will get 6 playable characters on the screen all at once, but one can dream.
Release date is set for 2022 and they will be getting my money.
Earlier, this week Konami came out with an equally big game announcement with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. This game will will have all the games we played in yester-year. From NES to Sega and Super Nintendo. Even Game Boy will be part of this collection.
This is amazing as I have been working to collect the old TMNT games to play on retro gaming units. Brings back the old fun of blowing into the game until you get it to work. Plus some of the games are really hard to find.
It will feel weird playing a Game Boy game on PS5, but I will not complain any past that.
