A woman has sparked an online debate about ordering practices in restaurants. In her TikTok, @ princessmurdaa1 poses the question, "Does anybody know why I get hot water everytime I go out to eat?" and later revealed she uses the water to wash the silverware. People in the comments are very divided with some saying it's a great idea and some saying it's a burden to the server.
No, it isn't. Hot water comes out of the coffee machine and takes about 30 seconds of extra time. BUT sometimes people feel bad about asking for weird things, so they'll order a menu item that has said thing. Don't do that. Do not order hot tea so you can have hot water. Then we have to get the tea pot, the mug, a spoon, sugar, cream, it's a whole thing and god I'm realizing I think I still have some serving trauma from that damn tea mis en place.
