Just in Chicago last week, The Cult continue to make their way around the country in a bus pulling a trailer with rock and roll instruments. Last night, they stopped in D.C. to play The Anthem. The band was mid-song playing Rain when lead singer Ian Astbury drops the mic and hops into the crowd to break up and scuffle. Think tall fan blocking the view of a shorter fan and thus it was on!! Astbury school the taller fan for knowing that being up front would block the view and perhaps cause some tension.
This should be the job of the band on stage playing music with a view of the crowd. IF they see a fight, an emergency, etc, stop the show and make it known! To think it isn't the job of the band to do their part in keeping the show within a safe environment is bulls***. Sure there are many safety protocols in place for a concert but a bands and/or musician need to be part of that piece.
