Paul Stanley From KISS: "Not Feasible" Touring After "End Of The Road" Tour

As a longtime fan of the band KISS, we've almost gotten 50 years of music and tours. Hell, my oldest brother Chris introduced me to Destroyer when I was just a little dude (side note, "Shout It Out Loud" remains my all time favorite song)!

When the pandemic started to hit around the globe, KISS had already played 120 shows of their "End Of The Road" tour when they had to pump the brakes. And yes, the band has said they are still shuffling around tour dates so they can load up the instruments and finish the tour. Clearly there is good reason why they called it the "End Of The Road" tour. Paul Stanley said because of the badass elaborate costumes that can weigh between 40-50 pounds combined with their age and being on stage for a few hours each night, "it's not feasible" to continue touring.

Stanley did make an interesting point that if they didn't rock the costumes and just played in jeans and t-shirts, they could continue for years to come. Maybe I am wrong but I've always thought that we as fans of music have an expectation that bands continue forever. Yet when singers lose their voices, the show isn't what it used to be or their new music isn't what we wanted, somehow we're surprised. Let bands pull the plug so we can enjoy all of the records and memories. That is the best part of being a fan. We can always reacquaint ourselves with their music by breaking out a record we haven't listened to in years! Time to go listen to Destroyer.
