One lucky Illinois resident is hundreds of thousands of dollars richer after trying his luck at the Ultimate Diamond Jackpot game on the Illinois Lottery app.
According to an Illinois Lottery press release, the fortunate individual recently won over $690,000 and has big plans for the money. The first person he texted when he found out he won was his boss.
"As soon as I realized I won, the first person I told was my boss. He texted back, 'Please don't quit – we need you!' It made me laugh, but I told him not to worry, I’m not going anywhere."
The lucky lottery player praised the Illinois Lottery app for being such a convenient way to play the lottery.
"It's so convenient to play on the Illinois Lottery app. I was about to close my app one day when I decided to play one more time. On the very last number of the game, I hit the jackpot. I couldn’t believe it!"
As for how the winner plans to spend his money, well... let's just say he's treating himself!
"First, I was able to pay off my debt, which felt really good. Next, I’m treating myself to - you guessed it - an Audi. I couldn’t be more excited!"
