Angi Taylor Show Recap with Jay the Gay - 3-12-2021

This is a small taste of the show overall, the bits and bobs that I found interesting and funny, insightful and relevant. To hear everything that happened, check out the podcast version of the show. If you want a quick read along with random self inserts and my personal thoughts, you've come to the right place.

Call in Points:

(This is the broadstroke canvas on which I base my call, obviously these notes are going to be longer and more detailed.)

Today's obviously a big and special day but I have a bone to pick with Angi and Abe, neither of them are wearing green. Guess I'll be dragging The Joker out of his sleeping bag to show them what happens to those who don't wear green.

So, Kegs and Eggs finally arrived and it did not disappoint, there was so much going on I'm not sure where to exactly start. How about with the bars. If you're reading this and don't know, due to it being St. Patrick's Day weekend, a slew of new bars open only for the weekend and they tend to get packed quick. This morning was no exception but Rock 95.5 spared no expense and set up a small studio at a ton of them. Mind you because it was essentially a bar crawl, Angi, Abe, Jason Brown and I had to keep moving every few minutes. Hairbangers Ball followed us in a van so they avoided most of the shenanigans that ensued. It all began at Slappy O' Nutsacks, then The Slutty Shamrock, next was Drunkie McGee's, followed by O'Connor McGregor's, on to The Skanky Leprechaun, over to Colin O' Farrell's, into Skanky O' Malley's, a quick stop at Tits Ahoy and the VIP party at Stanky McButtcracks. It should be noted that most of these places were also closed down by the cops soon after we got there because Angi and Abe kept revealing the secret door colors and which alleys they were hidden in. Along the way, there were also plenty of hazards that kept the listeners from arriving in time to say hi. Joker in a sleeping bag, car jackers, puddles of green piss, homeless men eating bbqed pigeons and pigeon stew, tons of hard drug usage, syringes filled with piss, Bane, Angi's boobs, several trips to Ric Flair's Cocaine Cabana, Billy Eichner yelling at Debra Messing, Jussie Smullet and 2 white supremacists, vultures, Splinter, Shredder and one thirsty ass Shark. For those who were lucky enough to make it to one of the bars, they were treated to a performance from Hairbangers Ball. The band not only world premiered a brand new song "All Aboard the Bang Train," but also broke out plenty of covers including "Kickstart My Heart," "Shot Through the Heart," "Mental Health (Bang Your Head,)" "Panama," "Round and Round," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Lick It Up," and "Talk Dirty to Me." If you did miss out, luckily Rock 95.5 taped the whole thing and has it up on their Youtube channel. If you want to rock out while you're drinking green beer this weekend, go give it a view. Speaking of viewing, Angi and Abe will also be doing an introduction to a performance from Stabbing Westward tonight on Rock 95.5's Youtube channel as well. They will be playing the show live from The Green Smile, another temporary bar that was refurbished from an old dentist's office where a leprechaun OD'd last year in a backroom that used to be a speakeasy. If you happen to be reading this and it's any day but the 12th, I'm assuming that performance will also be posted on the Rock 95.5 Youtube channel as well for later and repeat viewing.

While traveling, Abe ran into his friend and fellow craps player, Sam Panayotovich. Sam is the number one guy in gambling according to Abe and he has extensive experience. He runs The Chicken Dinner podcast, works with the New England Sports Center and also has a hand in Vegas betting. This is the guy who murdered number 2 so he could become number 1. Anyway, he stopped by to mention what Abe has been saying for days now, why he believes that the Bears will be getting Russell Wilson. The market has been shifting and things are really beginning to heat up, the Bears were 8 to 1 last week and suddenly the bets had to be taken down. When they went back up, the Bears were at the top of the totem pole. He's more than likely going to get traded and with the order list, it would go to the Bears, the Jets and then the Dolphins. Bottom line, if the Bears get Russell Wilson, they will become contenders (at least for a few years.) I feel it should also be pointed out that Abe proceeded to pant like a dog who was in dire need of water for this whole interview.

Finally, before departing the studio for all the bar hopping, Angi asked Abe a really good question. When was the last time he actually had a good night's sleep? According to him, it was when he was a teenager. Even when he had covid, Abe did not sleep. This was the opposite of Angi who slept the whole duration of covid and only got up when she had to go do the show. She mentioned this because last night, Angi went to bed at 7 P.M. Abe, on the other hand, stayed up a bit because he never sleeps. This also is supposed to explain why he's a mess but I think it's just a piece of a massive puzzle. So what did he do all night, watch The Challenge of course. As he began to explain what was happening on the show, you could hear Angi slipping on her running shoes and putting the wine bottles in her pockets. They also pointed out that this weekend is Daylight Savings Time, that stupid event that everyone hates because it's so meaningless and apparently robs us of sunlight. Don't worry about fixing your clocks, most will do the job for you these days aside from your archaic stove. You know who hates Daylight Savings Time the most though, parents who have babies because babies don't get that things are changed and will cause problems regardless. In short, don't have kids.

Request Wars:

Current Champion: Mick (4x Champ)

Challenger Song Choice: "Hail the Apocalypse"

Champion Song Choice: "Holy Wars"

Observation: Smack talk was a little bit better today but it was nothing super substantial so I would think relying on the songs was the way to go today and with a more weighted easy choice, the winner was clear.

Winner: Mick

Other Topics:

Because there was so much bar hopping and just absolute messy insanity this morning, there is no excess topics to cover. Fret not though, a hungover Monday should give us plenty of discussion as normal once it rolls around.

10 o' Clock Toast:

Hairbangers Ball. They played us a ton of covers, put on a virtual show and premiered a new song.

Show Quotes and Tidbits:
