  • Nick Smith from Oak Forest is a firefighter & paramedic as well as the head of the departments public education. Nick goes above and beyond on and off duty. Thanks you for always helping the public and having a great work ethic!
  • Antonio of Oak Forest & his family lost their son to cancer. Since then, Antonio has helped and guided families with the struggles of DIPG, the same cancer he lost his son to.

  • Ryan Ballard works for the Oak Forest fire & emergency response. He is also an executive board member for Project Fire Buddies, a 100% volunteer organization and does all the documentation.

  • Nick Versetto, owner of Doug's Dogs, in Oak Forest has helped Project Fire Buddies and is constantly giving back to community organizations. He has even personally delivered meals to fire buddy families

  • Juan Hernandez along with his wife Stella, own and operate Alicia's House food pantry. They have made a different in so many lives from giving food every week to people in need. They also have given Christmas parties and presents to needy families. This is all done out of the kidness of their hearts.

  • Steve Buresh is the owner of Cheesecake Store & Sandwich Shop located in Plainfield. Steve's business distributed free meals to support the community amid power outages.
  • Jack Ryder of La Grange posthumously received the Illinois Association of Park Districts' 2020 Best of the Best Award. Jack was a Navy Veteran who made it his mission to identify all La Grange Park residents that were killed in action during military service to make sure they were placed at the Veteran's Memorial.
  • Matt Barba of Lake Zurich is the manager of Deer Path Inn. During the pandemic, he has kept his staff positive and laughing through his hilarious Instagram posts. He also organized an online auction which raised $55,000 for Lake Forest small businesses
