A Chicago-area KISS fan says spending $12,495 to be Gene Simmons’ personal roadie was totally worth it!
Dwayne Rosado, a retired correctional officer from New York recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, flew into Illinois with his son Zach for Simmons’ Roadie Experience during a stop at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles.
The VIP experience included backstage access, soundcheck privileges, and some… interesting one-on-one time with the rock legend. Zach performed his original song “Dad’s A Dork,” got a critique from Simmons, heard the story of how Gene lost his virginity, and sat through a random lecture on forming an LLC.
Actual roadie duties were minimal, but Zach did hand Gene a red Solo cup of cream — a prop for an off-color onstage bit.
Critics called the price outrageous, but Simmons defended it:
“You buy a Rolls because you want a Rolls.”
For Dwayne, the memory was priceless:
