Crews from We Energies are conducting work in the area and will be releasing natural gas, which may cause the smell to spread.
Officials stated that the work is expected to last until 7 p.m. and warned that wind gusts could carry the odor to surrounding cities. Residents are advised to be aware of the situation but not to panic, as this is part of scheduled maintenance.
