On this day in 1996, The Beastie Boys organized the incredible 2 day Tibetan Freedom Concert in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. 100 Thousand people showed up to see The Beasties, Rage Against The Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Red hot Chili Peppers, Beck and others. It was a pretty incredible festival, before they became a thing here in the states.
