1935 - Babe Ruth hit the 714th and Final Home Run of His Career, for the Boston Braves, in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was his third home run in that game . . . setting the record that stood for 39 YEARS that was later broken by Hank Aaron.
1968 - The single "Jumping Jack Flash" by The Rolling Stones was released. It did not appear on an album until their greatest hits collection "Hot Rocks" four years later.
1983 - "Return of the Jedi" opened on 1,002 movie screens across the country . . . grossing a record $6.2 million dollars. It went on to make more than $300 million.
