Our guy James Hetfield has not only logged countless miles rocking the road with Metallica, but he's a major league car enthusiast as well. In fact some of his own car designs have been produced, have won awards and these lines are SEXY AF!
Listen in his own words below, but he's very into being part of the designing of some amazing looking cars that draw from an art-deco look. And lets be honest, who wouldn't be straining their necks if they saw one of these babies on the open road?!
Hetfield says: “Seeing the car at the end of a build is always the moment we’re waiting for: 'Wow, we created that. We did that. We just made some history.'”
To win the Custom of the Year award at 2014's Goodguys show in Pleasanton, California, the Black Pearl beat out a few other customs, including the 1939 Lincoln Zephyr of John Fleming of Asher, Oklahoma; the 1955 Cadillac of Brandon Penserini of American Canyon, California; the 1956 Packard Caribbean of Mike and Rita Gardner of Livermore, California; and the 1951 Ford Victoria of Mark and Kelly Skipper of Fresno, California.
Yes, we have our Rock 95.5 Beater Car Club, but Hetfield's designs for sure do not belong! They are amazing!
