What Dave Grohl's gritty vocals bring to the track "Times Like These," Kelly Clarkson delivers with passion and flawless execution. Of course it will always truly be the Foo Fighters' song, but Kelly's rendition is something to be respected.
This isn't the first time Kelly has covered a rock song on her show's segment "Kellyoke," she recently did a rendition of the Killer's "Mr. Brightside" (below) and hoo boy, that one gets to me. The Killers' version evokes a sense of misery, but acceptance. Kelly brings a different emotion to the song with a feeling that leans towards desperation and woe. It's like I can visualize her watching her boyfriend hook up with another woman, unaware that she's watching.
Basically it's, like, really good. I want a rock album from Kelly.
